Welcome to Re:thinking Education!
Mariya

The team behind this project is still small but with strong motivation and many ideas.

I am Mariya and I am responsible for the content you may find here. The design and everything related to the IT management of the website is done by Ivan, without whose help and support, this website wouldn’t exsist.

About me: I`ve just graduated  in International Business Relations from the University of Economics – Varna, Bulgaria. At the moment I am working as a career consultant about higher education abroad.

So far I have had the opportunity to participate in eight international conferences: International Culture Preparation Seminar (Romania, 2006); Global Boundaries ( ISFiT 2007, Norway); European Youth Media Days 2008 and “New media: all interactive, all public?” 2009  (both in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium); Th!nk About It II: Climate Change (Denmark, 2009), Youthmedia.eu- launch conference in Berlin (2009) and AER Youth Regional Network Meeting (Paris, 2009).

Although they all have been different somehow, at the same time they all have had one common goal among the rest: encouraging youth participation in issues our society faces, promoting citizen education, helping the youth to cope with and work in an international, highly diverse environment. And they were all classified as non-formal education initiatives.

I had also the chance to be an Erasmus student at the Warsaw School of Economics, Poland, throughout the academic year 2007-2008,  as well as to be a volunteer within the European Volunteer Service program in Poznan, Poland (VII- VIII. 2009).

My interests are related mostly to youth education, HRM and international relations (with a focus on the EU).

You could also have a look at my CV ( Mariya_Vasileva_CV_blog )or at my personal blog (in Bulgarian only).

Ivan
My name is Ivan and I have been walking in this world for 23 years. For that time I have often been led to the doubt that I am not on the right track. Sometimes that’s the case, sometimes not.  The thing is that I know how to treasure the treasures of life and I usually do.

I am supposed to have some economic knowledge in my head – I graduated from the University of Economics-Varna a year ago. What I appreciate the most though is not what you know, because that’s already happened, but what you make happen. I reach out for simplicity and creativity. I strive for fun and responsibility. Right now I am trying to find them in the marketing world of brands in Lunds Universitetet in Sweden.

Oh, yeah, one more thing, photography is my passion and the web is my playground.

Wish you a nice stay at Re:Thinking Education!
